Endoscopes for the investigation of cavities are a necessary component of the modern world, whether they are rigid or flexible, with a camera or without, in 2D or 3D, for medical or industrial use. The accuracy of the etendue between the light source, light guide, and endoscope is the primary determinant of the quality of the images that are acquired.
